On October 16, the Rome Rotary Club hosted the Rome Rotary Roast of Frank Barron at the Forum River Center. It was a perfect blend of light-hearted jabs and heartfelt tributes to one of Rome’s most beloved business and community leaders.Headlined by former Georgia Governor and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, the event — emceed by Bob Berry — was attended by hundreds of guests who heard stories highlighting Barron’s business legacy, philanthropy, and civic contributions.The event raised between $35,000 and $40,000 for the Rome Rotary Scholarship Program, with organizers hoping to make it an annual tradition.
